Gettin' Ready For Winter Fun With Isuzu

If you're one of the lucky owners of an Isuzu SUV, you should be getting pretty excited about now. Maybe you own one of the high-performing Isuzu Ascenders. Maybe you proudly park the popular Axiom in your garage every night when you come home from work. Maybe you're hanging on to that loved Isuzu Trooper. Regardless of which model you fell in love with, chances are, if you're an Isuzu SUV owner, you're an active, sporty person who likes to have fun. Well, my friend, the time for winter fun is growing close and you'd better be prepared.

You know you want to do it. The soft snowflakes floating serenely down to earth, the sound of snow whooshing with every turn of your skis, the view from the lift on the way back up, the taste of hot coffee in the lodge after a long day… In the mood to go skiing or snowboarding yet? We thought so. And Isuzu's got you covered.

Isuzu offers two options for ski accessories for its newest SUV model – the Ascender 5-Passenger. The ButtonDown ski mount carries four pairs of skis and features a secure lock with optional SKS cores.

Mounting the ButtonDown requires Cross Bars and MightyMounts, and if you'd like it to carry your snowboards instead, you'll need to purchase the ski lift attachment for under $15. If you'd prefer to hold your skis diagonally, you'll definitely prefer the SkiSlopes mount. Both are convenient and exceptionally easy to use. Like all Isuzu vehicles, the accessories are also warranted as Isuzu stands behind every product they offer.

And getting up to the slopes is no problem in the Ascender. The Ascender 5-Passenger offers Isuzu's Stabilitrack Electronic Stability Control which greatly improves handling in adverse weather conditions.

The system's traction control – one of the three main components of Stabilitrak – activates as soon as it senses wheel spin (common on snowy roads). Once the wheel or wheels begin to spin, the traction control component will selectively apply the brakes and reduce engine torque. This helps the Ascender regain traction, or contact with the road surface. In addition to traction control, Stabilitrak also combines a stability control system and anti-lock braking system, so that all three work together seamlessly.

If you're already an Isuzu owner, you know that driving an Isuzu is worry-free. With Isuzu's comprehensive 7-year/75,000 mile roadside assistance program, even if you encounter a dead battery on your weekend getaway, Isuzu is only a toll-free number away.

So that leaves just one question. Where should you go skiing? We can help you with that, too. The number one rated skiing in the U.S . is Aspen, Colorado. Vail and Winter Park (also in Colorado) are both in the top ten. Heavenly Ski Resort (located in Lake Tahoe) offers slopes on both the California and Nevada side and has been rated the number 2 best skiing in the U.S. Utah comes in third with Deer Valley Resort (made famous in the 2002 Olympics), and Mount Snow and Killington are both located on the opposite coast in Vermont. With 22 combined Isuzu dealerships in Colorado, California, Nevada, Vermont, and Utah, finding the perfect Isuzu vehicle won't be too difficult.
So grab your skis and let's head out. Winter only comes once a year.

Getting Affordable Auto Insurance-How To Insure Your Car Without Breaking The Bank

In today’s day and age, getting affordable car insurance really isn’t that difficult. In fact, you can often times find many affordable auto insurance quotes on the Internet. Of course, just because the Insurance is cheaper doesn’t is make the right one for you.

In fact, often times the most affordable auto insurance isn’t the best ones for you, because the customer service is poor and the company many times has only been in business for several years. One of the most important aspects of any insurance companies is experience; unfortunately, most times cheaper insurance companies haven’t had much experience in the industry, and therefore aren’t all that reliable.

Of course, just because auto insurance is affordable doesn’t necessarily make it bad either. If you are set on finding affordable and cheap car insurance here are some important tips to consider.

First of all, do your shopping over the Internet. There are a couple big advantages to doing this on the Internet, and here they are.

First of all, it is much quicker. Instead of having to sort through the Yellow Pages and wait literally hours on end to talk to several agents, you can easily and quickly get a quote online to find out the best car insurance for you. You can do this for many different companies, much faster than you could over the phone.

Now, once you’ve narrowed down your search to several companies, you may want to give them a call and find out more from directly speaking to an agent. This is a great way to test out their customer service; if you find you to wait hours to talk to one person, that company is probably out of the picture.

However, if they have good customer service and you can talk an agent rather quickly, then they are probably worth considering. However, always start your search on the Internet and narrow it down to several different companies.

This makes it much easier to find cheap auto insurance at a much quicker rate. Follow these tips and you will find getting affordable auto insurance easier than ever.

Getting More For Your Car On Ebay Motors

Listing a car on eBay Motors has become one of the most popular ways of selling a car. With over 3 million unique visitors to eBay Motors UK each month, a car is sold every two minutes. eBay Motors has a number of distinct advantages over straightforward classified ads, not least the space to fully describe the car, add multiple photos, and the reduced hassle of only having to deal with one buyer, the buyer that wins the auction. Clare Gilmartin, the head of eBay Motors UK, reaffirmed this by saying, “The beauty of eBay Motors is that there’s no need for negotiation and you see the buyers bidding up the price, with sellers often getting more than they expected.” In actual fact, many buyers go on eBay in search for a bargain. Therefore the following guide has been put together to ensure that your car doesn’t become one of those bargains.

The first step is to do your homework. Find out the trade-in value of the car through getting an instant valuation from a website such as wewillbuyyourcar.com. Then use the excellent used car valuation tool on parkers.co.uk. Use these two valuations to identify a fair price for your car. Be sure not to set the reserve price to high, as this will scare off many potential buyers. Often products and cars with lower reserve prices will end up receiving higher bids and a higher final sales price.

Perhaps the most important aspect of selling your car on eBay Motors is the description of the car. There’s a wide choice of cars for sale on eBay so a poor description or missing details will result in people bidding for other cars. Firstly, a picture says a thousand words. Several pictures say even more so be sure to include photos of the tyres and the inside of the car as well. Mention that you have all the relevant documents – the V5 Registration Document, MOT Certificate, and Service History. Also explain your payment terms and whether you offer delivery or collection only.

Aside from the eBay description there are other steps that can be taken to help buyers feel more confident. Consider purchasing an AA Car Data Check. This will provide details of whether the car has been written off, if it has a finance agreement against it, along with a full description of the car, including details such as engine size, fuel type and date of first registration. Mentioning that the AA Car Data Check can be viewed will really help to instill confidence into potential buyers.

Once the auction has begun stay involved in the process of selling your vehicle. Assuming that you’ve accurately described the car and added various photos, only serious buyers will get in contact. Respond to any questions quickly and accurately. Finally, once the auction has been finalised payment must be made. Many people choose to use Escrow.com, eBay Motor’s finance partner, which acts as a secure third party to protect both the buyer and the seller. The buyer pays escrow.com, the car is then collected or delivered, the buyer then checks over the car, after which point Escrow pays the seller.

Generally, making a successful and satisfactory sale on eBay Motors is all about establishing credibility. The feedback score helps but a detailed description, multiple photos, an AA Car Data Check and the use of escrow.com all help greatly to make buyers feel more secure, ultimately encouraging them to bid higher.

Getting Paid Off Collecting Jeep Parts

There’s nothing worse than deciding to try a new brand of product and finding that they just aren’t as good as your usual one. It’s worth the try sometimes to quantify just how good a product really is, because after using or having the same thing for a long period of time you can lose the appreciation of the item.

Just like fashion, it’s also amusing to see trends come and go. And then there are the times where the hardcore fan will tell you that they knew the product was cool all that time. I have a brother that is one of those very loyal nothing else will do fans. Particularly when it comes to Jeeps.

It’s not until you see someone who is really into them that you notice just how much paraphernalia can be associated with one vehicle. Strangely enough, it’s not just what the individual collects; it’s all the things that get given to him because people know how much he loves them. Unfortunately for him, his wife just doesn’t see the same appeal in all the things he has collected over the years. You see while jeep stuff might be appealing for a guy it doesn’t really give a house that homely feeling. There is only so many ways of decorating with posters, stickers, cups, key chains and t-shirts.

Several years of accumulating jeep stuff has resulted in many boxes being stored in the garage and not so much being displayed. There would be no question as to the final resting place of all this stuff once the garage got packed.

Funny then how a change of outlook can make the worthless suddenly seem valuable. You see my brothers’ wife was bidding on some items online when she happened to come across some items that looked remarkably like the ones stored in her garage. On closer inspection she found that the items were indeed the same and to her utter surprise the bidding was strong and the items turned out to be quite valuable.

Needless to say that when she had finished looking on the internet she went straight to the garage and started sorting out the items in the boxes. With a new appreciation of the value of the object she had decided that perhaps she had overreacted in her need to have the items packed away.

When I go to my brothers’ house now there are displays where the older jeep objects are kept. Although they have not been given prime positioning in major living and entertaining rooms they take pride of place in the office.

While I wouldn’t claim that there has been a conversion to the jeep faithful, it is not uncommon now to see my sister-in-law actually making use of the jeep mugs for her tea. Whether she does it because she really values the pieces or whether it’s out of respect for my brother no one really cares.

Getting The Best Deal On A Car Rental In Spain

Many travellers use a car rental Spain for transportation on their trip. A rental gives you the freedom to tour the countryside. You won’t have to plan your activities or rely on the schedule for the train or bus service with your own vehicle.

Renting a vehicle is not as expensive as you may think. In many cases, a weekly rental can cost just a little more than a rail pass for one person. If you are travelling with two or more people, renting a vehicle will actually save you money compared to rail passes for each person in your group. This is true even when the cost of fuel is included.

Getting the Best Deal on a Car Rental Spain

Compare rental companies on the internet. The cost of the same car can vary widely according to the company you choose. You can pick up your car at the airport for the best convenience. Return it prior to your flight home. It’s often cheaper to pick up and return at the same location. Some companies charge high fees for returning at a different location.

Choose a smaller vehicle to save money. The rental rate on a smaller car is less than a larger, luxury model. In addition, you will save money on gas. Compact cars are more fuel efficient than larger cars. To save even more on fuel, consider renting a diesel car. The price of gas in Spain is higher than in North America. You will want a vehicle that is as fuel efficient as possible, especially if you plan to travel a distance.

Other ways to save:

o Pick up and return your vehicle on weekend days.
o The longer the length of the rental, the more you will save on the daily rate.
o Return the vehicle with a full tank of gas to avoid the additional fees charged for re fueling.
o Compare the cost of renting in town or at the airport; sometimes there is a difference
o Book early to get the best price

Things to Consider in a Car Rental Spain

Consider the size of the car you need. The car you will need depends on the number of people in your group. A couple can do fine with a compact size car and save money. If you are travelling with your family, you may need a larger vehicle.

You will need to choose between an automatic or manual transmission. A manual transmission has a cheaper rental rate. They also get better gas mileage. If you want to save money, go for the manual. If you can’t drive a manual or don’t like to, then you will need the automatic.

Does the car have air conditioning? This feature may cost extra money. If you are travelling in the summer, the additional cost will be well worth the money. The summers get very hot and you will appreciate the air.

When you reserve your car, you will be asked for a deposit. The amount can vary by company, but 30% is not unusual. Get confirmation in writing when you pay your deposit. Make sure to get a copy of your rental agreement in your language. Most large companies have multi lingual personnel that can do this for you.

Ask about the company’s cancellation policy. Some allow you to cancel without a penalty, as long as you cancel before the deadline. Some will make you pay a penalty if you don’t cancel at least twenty four hours in advance. This is generally the price of one day’s rental. Ask about the time required for cancellation without penalty when you reserve the car.

Getting The Best Teen Car Insurance Rates, 3 Tips To Help Save Money

Adding a teen driver to your auto policy can be a painful experience. One, you don't want to let them drive your brand new car and two, your rate is about to double or triple. Yes, I did say triple. Especially with a new car. The newer your cars are the higher the rate increase.

Here are some tips to help you avoid this financial headache.

Do your kids have to have a brand new car?

This one surprises me all the time. Parents complain about how much insurance costs for a teen driver and then I ask them what kind of car they are looking at and it's a brand new 2006 or maybe even a 2007 model. You say it's loaded with all these new safety controls and has 12 airbags. Those safety features will protect you but they also cost a lot to fix and replace so that's why the insurance is high. Cars are easy to replace, people are not.

There are many reliable late model cars out there that are just as safe as the brand new models and will cost less to insure. If your teen wants a newer model to look cool, tell them to start working for it.

Another benefit to having a late model car is you can choose not to put comprehensive and collision coverage on it. This will drastically reduce the cost of your premiums. Keep that in mind when shopping for a car.

Make sure you get all the discounts your teen driver is eligible for.

A 'B' or better average will usually qualify them for a Good Student Discount. Have your teen take a driver's training course. These two discounts can take a nice chunk off the insurance. And they also encourage safe and responsible driving. Make sure you remind them that driving is a privilege not a right.

Two other discounts you may be eligible for are for when they go away to college or overseas to study abroad. Both of them give you a discount for limiting your teen's access to your cars. The logic is they don't have access to your vehicles so they should not affect your premium. You have to make your insurance company aware of these situations when they arise. Most companies are not going to be proactive about lowering your rates if they can help it. It's up to you to make sure you get all the discounts you and your teen are eligible for.

Most states allow teens to have a permit. Use that to your advantage.

This one is a little sneaky but when you can save a few hundred dollars every 6 months every little bit helps. When your teen has a learner's permit most insurance companies do not charge you for this. Only when they get their actual driver's license do your rates go through the roof. The idea is to keep them with their permit for as long as possible. Understand that with a permit there are restrictions such as driving supervised and not driving at night. So as long as you don't mind supervising your teen as they gain more experience by all means go ahead.

And once they do get their actual license you have to let the insurance company know about it or risk a claim they cause being denied.

Insuring a teen driver is expensive no matter how you slice it. Follow these tips and you can start getting the best teen car insurance rates available.

Getting The Right Truck Rental

Truck rentals are used for moving, for the most part. They are used for the do-it-yourself moving, whether it is in-town moving, or various one-way moves. In-town moving is where the truck will be picked up then returned to the same location in the same town, and one-way moves are where the truck is picked up from one place and returned to another.

The cost of renting a truck will differ depending on the company you are using, amount of miles traveled, truck size, and availability. As most people move on the weekend, it is usually more expensive to rent during that time.

Some companies will rent by the day, for a set rate depending on the size of the truck, where other companies rent by a daily rate and a per-mile rate. Once again, these rates can change depending on the availability and demand.

One-way rentals also are worked out on availability of trucks at the location where you will be picking the truck up, as well as the demand on them where the drop off point is, so price ranges can go up and down. The total number of days and miles you have rented the truck for are established by the departure location, and the destination, with extra days and miles charged.

Typically, you will be required to submit a deposit before renting a truck, which is to ensure that there is no damage to the truck before returning it. Most companies will accept a cash deposit, but some companies will insist on a credit card deposit.

The mandates for taking possession of a truck will vary with each company, but all renters are required to have a valid driver’s license.

A lot of truck rental companies will require the person who will be driving the truck to be 18 years old, 21 years old or 25 years old. And the person who actually rents the truck is held fully responsible for the truck in the event of an accident or theft, even if there is another person driving the truck. A few companies do allow more than one person to be insured if it is arranged in advance, and it will usually involve extra fees.

If you want to tow your car, a car carrier will carry your entire car on a trailer which attaches to a place at the rear of your truck. A car carrier is recommended for all-wheel and four-wheel drive vehicles. A tow dolly is the recommended method for front-wheel drive vehicles. They lift the front wheels of your vehicle off the road, and pull it along behind your truck.

A hand truck or dolly will keep your back from being strained during the lifting of heavy objects into the truck. It will also speed up your moving process by allowing you to carry more items on each trip to or from the truck. You can also use furniture pads, as they will save your furniture from the scratches and dings which can happen during the moving process.

Getting Your Hauling Done With A Pickup Truck

Whether you need to haul heavy cargo items or transport everyday luggage or move packages to another place, getting a pick up truck could be just the right thing for you to do. Pick up trucks are sturdy looking automobiles with an open cabin in the top rear area. This vehicle has become popular among today’s car owners for its domestic and commercial utility and flexibility.

Pickup trucks have commercial features like a separate cabin and compartment cargo bed or the rear load area. There are also pickup truck designs that display a well-type build with rigid short sides that comes with an opened rear gate while other designs that has a flat tray back or the so-called flatbed. There are also other special features such as having a mounted specialty body just next to cabin area. Each of these designs may be customized to serve a specific purpose or conventional use of the pickup truck.

Since pickup trucks have gained huge public approval, many car companies today have already started offering pickup truck rentals where the features and services of the vehicle are suited according to your demand. So if you are in need of a pickup truck service and you have to choose from among many options, it is best to know first the services they offer.

You can start by making an assessment of how much transporting help you need. The size of the pickup truck must be equivalent to the load of your cargo. Once you have in mind the right size of the pick truck that you just need, you can start calculating the total costs of the rental service. You do not intend to pay too much, do you?

There are also pickup truck rentals which cover the entire transport service only, which technically means that you will pack the cargoes on your own and haul it into the truck instead of paying the transport company to pack up the luggage for you. This will significantly minimize your hauling expenses. But if you mind the long delay and effort in the packing up, you can just go for the packing and loading services all combined in one.

Because of the growing competition among pickup truck companies, transport service providers keep on upgrading their services for the clientele to ensure loyal and continued patronage. In order to maximize the expenses you will have to spend on the cargo transport service, you need to choose a company that would provide accessory features like security blankets and furniture pads to avoid glitches on your luggage and packages, tie-down straps that will put your cargoes in place during the transport process and some loading ramps in order to make the unloading part a lot more easier and systematic when you finally reach your destination.

The total cost of a pickup truck service is usually based on calculated rates of the total distance traveled, the space consumed by the cargoes and the maximum weight. However since we are not talking about easy money you spend for the transport service of your cargoes, it is best to understand the rules in the rates game. Coming unprepared and clueless will take its toll on you because you might be paying more than what you actually need to for the freight charges. Basically since the rental rates are based on the calculated space occupied by the packed goods, there is a need for you to measure your cargoes appropriately based on the floor space.

Aside from the overcharging that might occur due to the miscalculation of space covered by your cargo, there is a chance that you may also be charged for the total distance traveled in transporting your cargo. Normally, rental services ask for two way travel charges, basically traveling to the destination and going back to the point of origin. But then there are actually huge companies that cover a wide scope of geographical operation and have a sub-office near your destination, thus they are practically charging you for the return travel that you actually need not to do.

Gifts For Your Motorcyclist Pal

There are no better gifts for your motorcyclist pal than the ones that will improve his biking experience. You can certainly consider gifting him one of these:

1. Waterproof Riding Boots: It is surprising that not many motorcycle owners have waterproof riding boots. This is because most riders do not know how useful these shoes can be. If your pal too is one of them, then gifting him a pair could be a welcome way to dispel the ignorance. The waterproof leather boots can be stylish, light, protective and comfortable as well. They keep the feet dry and cosy, and make biking in wet weather a very comfortable experience.

2. Soft Saddlebags: If your friend likes travelling, soft saddlebags are a great gift. They are not as expensive as the leather ones, and are easy to lug around. You can get genuine leather saddle bags or faux leather ones. Another important advantage of a soft saddle bag is that it can be quite cavernous and hold large volumes simply by expanding. In fact, you cannot go wrong with a soft saddle bag.

3. Mesh Riding Jacket: If your friend doesn’t have one yet, change the situation. A mesh provides comfort as well as protection during warm weather, when leather jackets become unthinkable. Most bike manufacturers are now also making mesh jackets and there are a lot of attractive options available in the market.

4. Cold-Weather Gloves: Cold-weather gloves are a great buy too. They are always welcome in chill weather. Since they come in a range of thickness, even if your friend has one, chances are he will have one of a different thickness.

5. Electric Vest or Jacket Liner: This is quite literally a heart-warming gift for any motorcyclist. There is nothing like an electric vest to warm up the cockles on a bleak cold day. It not only retains the body’s warmth but also adds to it. Warmer bodies can warm extremities, because the blood circulation improves. An electric vest can therefore not only warm your friend’s body but his fingers, nose and toes too.

6. Windshield: A full windshield is a great way to make your friend’s rides less fatiguing. Windshields reduce the windblast hitting the rider. But do involve your friend in the selection process because the rider is the best person to decide what’s good in terms of height, aesthetics, compatibility with bikes etc.

Give The Accessories A Glint Of Chrome

A motorcycle is incomplete if it does not have gleaming chrome parts that glint in the sun or reflect a rainbow of colors at night. The lust for chrome is so great that most riders spend hours polishing their bikes to make the chrome glint and gleam. Some even install special chrome parts to give their bikes an added sparkle.

The popular chrome-plated accessories include: chrome cast wheels, backrest with chrome side plates, billet chrome license plate frame, chrome driving light bar, chrome luggage rack, saddlebags with chrome studs, chrome fender bumpers, chrome passenger floorboards and chrome headlamp and signal visors.

One should not forget the exhaust pipes and fenders. These are the first to catch the bikers’ fancy. They make sure that the exhaust pipes and fenders get an extra coating of chrome if they are not satisfied with what the manufacturer have given them.

A popular stop of young bikers is the chrome-plating shops, which use a three-part process to chrome plate motorcycle parts. The first step is soaking the parts in a copper bath. This is done to remove imperfections, and make the surface smooth. Then comes the nickel bath. The last step is the application of a chromium film. It is now the turn of polishers to take over. They patiently polish the surface till it starts gleaming.

The bikers love what they see, and take infinite care to keep the chromium –plated accessories the same away. They try to ensure that the parts don’t get scratched and the polishing is done regularly. The selection of polish is especially important. It is best to go for a branded product that has a sufficient amount of wax in it. Polishes that have extra grit damage the chromium film.

Also, a soft cloth should be used to polish the surface. This reduces the chances of scratching the surface inadvertently. A good practice is to remove the ring while polishing. Often, the ring comes in the way and leaves a scratch on the polished chrome surface.

The bikers should also be careful of using newly chromed exhausts. They should avoid driving long distances with a new exhaust, as this may turn the exhaust blue. The best practice is to run the bike over shorter distances initially so that the exhaust pipes get used to the heating and cooling process.

All bikers must remember that chrome plating will look good only if they take good care of it.

Global Warming & Hybrid Cars

Global Warming is a considerable increase in the climate temperature of the earth in a short period of time due to human activity. Global warming could result in the arctic ice thinning which would increase the sea level, as well as other extreme weather such as floods, hurricanes etc. Climate change is a major problem in the twenty first century, and a lot has to be done in order to turn things around for future generations. Car producers have been forced to develop new technologies to reduce the level of gas emissions that go into the air. Vehicles on the road are responsible for nearly one quarter of yearly emission of carbon dioxide – the principal global warming gas – in the United States. With the exception of three other countries, the United States transportation sector emits more carbon dioxide than all other countries combined.

Hybrids innovative technology is an alternative energy solution which helps to reduce the risk of global warming. It is clear that excessive gas consumption causes problems to the environment. A gallon of gasoline weighs approximately six pounds, and when burned the carbon inside the gas combines with oxygen from the air to produce nearly twenty pounds of carbon dioxide. When a hybrid car is used instead of a car that devours gas to the extreme, the earth can be spared a lot of unnecessary greenhouse gas.

Hybrid cars reduce fuel emissions because the hybrid engine uses the battery and not gasoline when accelerating. Also hybrid motors shut off when the car is stopped and run off their electricity. Hybrid cars use an electric motor which assists the cars gasoline engine. The help of the motor lets the gasoline engine work less, which improves fuel economy and lowers emissions of pollution going into the air. Hybrid cars reduce smog by ninety percent and use far less gas than conventional cars do. Hybrid cars can clearly contribute to the prevention of global warming because they reduce gas consumption and limit gas emissions. These ways reduce carbon dioxide in the atmosphere which holds back the effects of global warming. While they may not be the complete answer to the problems that the world faces in terms of the climate changes and global warming, they are more than a small contribution, and if the majority of people chose them as an option, it would make a big difference to the problems we are facing.

GM Incentive Program

HONDA AND TOYOTA OFFERED U.S. CONSUMERS THE HIGHEST average fuel efficiency of 2007 model year vehicles, the government reported Wednesday. The average fuel economy for 2007 vehicles was 20.2 miles per gallon, the same as 2006 vehicles, the Environmental Protection Agency said in an annual report that used new testing procedures. For individual vehicles, the test results are included on window stickers in dealer lots. The agency said the overall results marked an increase compared with 2004 vehicles, which averaged 19.3 mpg.

Honda Motor Co. had the highest fuel economy of any manufacturer with 22.9 mpg, a slight decrease compared with its 2006 lineup. Toyota Motor Corp. posted a 22.8 mpg average for its 2007 vehicles compared with 22.4 mpg the previous year. Toyota's average was helped by the gas-electric Prius hybrid, which had the highest combined fuel economy of any passenger car with 46.2 mpg. South Korea's Hyundai Motor Co., which includes Kia vehicles, improved to 22.7 mpg for 2007 vehicles, followed by Volkswagen AG with 21.4 mpg. Nissan Motor Co. showed the largest gain of any automaker during the past year, improving 0.6 mpg to 20.6 mpg. General Motors Corp. led domestic automakers with 19.4 mpg, followed by Ford Motor Co. with 18.7 mpg. For the third straight year, Ford's Escape hybrid had the highest fuel efficiency of any light truck with 29.7 mpg.

DaimlerChrysler AG, which recently completed the sale of a controlling stake in Chrysler to private equity firm Cerberus Capital Management, was the lowest rated with 18.3 mpg, a mark that has been unchanged the past three years. The figures were calculated for the first time based on test methods devised to better reflect driving habits and provide a more realistic estimate. The new tests led to a 6 percent decrease in fuel economy averages compared to past estimates using old testing criteria, the EPA said.

Among vehicle type, passenger cars averaged 23.4 mpg in 2007 -- unchanged from 2006. SUVs averaged 18.1 mpg, an increase of 0.3 mpg, and pickups were unchanged at 16.2 mpg. EPA Administrator Stephen L. Johnson said the findings were evidence that "automakers are answering

President Bush's call to improve fuel economy and decrease our nation's dependency on foreign oil." But the figures underscored complaints in Congress that the auto industry has failed to rapidly ramp up production of vehicles that can get more miles on a gallon of gas. The Senate approved legislation in June that would require automakers to build more efficient vehicles; the measure is pending in Congress.

With more consumers driving larger vehicles than a generation ago, overall fuel efficiency has made little progress. The current fleet is less efficient than the new vehicles produced in 1981, for example, and well below the peak of 22 mpg in 1987.

GMC to Launch All New Pick Ups Early

Published reports are indicating that General Motors will move up the production of their updated line of GMC and Chevrolet pick up trucks by three months with the new models making their debut in October 2006. Some are calling this move an act of desperation on the part of GM which has been socked by extensive criticism over its product line, while others are hailing it as a bold, strategic initiative. Regardless, this is an unusual move for the world’s number one automaker, one that could help the company get back on its feet. Let’s take a look at the new trucks and what they will offer to you, the consumer.

High gas prices, quality problems, and a perception that the company offers products that no one wants has been plaguing General Motors for much of the past year. With plant closures coming, layoffs pending, and market share decreasing, little good news has been focused on “the general” by the automobile press. Fortunately, GM is battling back with fresh models set to be released including SUVs and trucks, which are the “bread and butter” vehicles of the company. Here is what you can expect to see when the new trucks enter the market in Autumn 2006:

1. Fresh sheetmetal. All new exteriors with a modified and sportier front end.

2. Modified engines. Traditional work horse engines which have powered GMC trucks for much of the past decade are expected to return. However, displacement on demand technology, which shuts down unneeded cylinders at certain times [city traffic being one example] is expected to be incorporated on some motors. This technology effectively increases gas mileage without sacrificing performance.

3. New steering. Just as the SUVs will receive new rack and pinion steering when they make their debut in Spring 2006, the large pick up trucks should receive similar enhancements.

4. Interior upgrades. Changes to the trucks’ interior as well as to packages offered will be some of the “inside” changes noticed by consumers.

General Motors has its work cut out for itself as an eroding market share is threatening the very viability of the company. Part of the reason for the move up of production is to thwart the new models expected from Nissan and Toyota that compete directly against the GMC pick ups. Both Japanese automakers have stated that they, too, are moving up the production of their popular full sized pick ups, therefore General Motors is reacting in part to their anticipated moves.

Beyond GMC trucks, the automaker will be releasing the Saturn Sky convertible, revamping its entire line of full sized SUVs, and overhauling several other lines of vehicles in a bid to win over customers. All of these changes are steps in the right direction, but the unanswered question remains this: how will consumers respond? The answer isn’t likely to be known for at least one more year.

Go Online When Looking For A Used Honda To Get Access To Hundreds Of Vehicles

The internet holds an enormous amount of resources when it comes to looking for a used Honda car. One of the quickest and easiest ways of getting the used Honda that you want is to go to a specialist website and make a search through hundreds of used cars.

A specialist website will allow you to make a detailed search quickly and easily for the exact make and model of Honda that you are looking for and depending on the size of the site there could be hundreds to narrow down your choices from. To help you narrow them down even further you should be able to refine your search by the amount you wish to spend on your car, any extras you want such as sunroof, the mileage and even the colour.

When looking for a used Honda you have the option of either searching with used car dealerships or private buyers. You might get more of a choice if you go with a dealership that specialises in Honda cars and when choosing this option there should be more cars to choose from especially if you have not got a fixed make and model in mind. Another bonus to going with a dealership is that all the used cars listed in the search and on the website should have had a car data check which tells you if the car has a dubious past. However the prices for used Hondas are usually dearer and you might get a cheaper bargain by searching with private sellers.

While you can get a good bargain and a car that will run trouble free by going with a private seller you do have to take a little more care. There are many honest sellers who advertise with specialist websites but there are also those who will try to sell a car with a dubious past. Cars that have been stolen and deemed as a write-off by the insurer and then repaired or that have an unpaid loan still attached to them do turn up online and it is imperative that you know how to find their history.

However a specialist website will be able to give you good advice on what to look for when it comes to buying a used Honda privately. If buying from an individual then you have to check up on them to make sure they are who they say they are. You can do this by getting their full name, landline phone number and address. Once you have this information then check the number and address online or make a reverse number search. You can also use a car data check service which will tell you everything pertinent to the vehicle’s history.

All cars have a vehicle identification number and this can found in different places on the car. If you know this number then you can make a vehicle car data check and this will tell you various types of information on the used Honda. It will tell you if the car still has a loan attached to it, whether the car has been listed as having been stolen or if it was written off with the insurance company which means you should steer clear.

Going For Fast Gas Scooters?

Why Fast Gas Scooters?

There is the impression that because it is a tiny version of the loud motorcycles, it lacks speed. What fast gas scooters lack is size but not speed. They are also cheaper and very inexpensive to maintain. For its upkeep, it only costs a mere fraction of the fortune you spend on gas, repairs, and even insurance.

Insurance for gas powered scooters are not restrictive. This has to do with speed, yes – but lack of it. Fast gas scooters cannot compete with cars in the freeways or on the fast lanes. Hence, they are less likely to figure in accidents. That is how insurance companies assess scooters, and this is good news for all scooter aficionados.

More than Just Speed

But how fast gas scooters can go? Many have tried home grown remedies like adding a performance gear sprocket or attaching an exhaust system to get the scooters speeding down the alleys. Instead of figuring out how to hike up the speedometer of the gas scooter, get the 4 stroke single cylinder 49.7cc scooters.

The 49.7cc air cooled 2 HP engines give the amazing powerful speed for a little bike. This upgraded version is street legal, and has the approval of the DOT and EPA. So if you are mulling over an ordinary scooter to take you to your office everyday, why not consider a faster moving two-wheel drive?

Of course fast gas scooters with 49.7cc engines can rack up a speed of 35 to 40 miles per hour. This is real nifty, considering that that you don’t need any legal permits to drive around town. ]

Gearing Up

There are some things to do before zooming away on new fast gas scooters. Before even turning the ignition key, make sure that all the screws are secure. If this was shipped to you, then check each screw from top to bottom. Since the chains are still spanking new, oil these every day. This will prevent the chains from snapping during those short drives.

Fast gas scooters can be driven uphill, and are so easy to operate. There is no clutch to control; instead you just twist the grip throttle. The torque converter transmission delivers the power suited for fast gas scooters.

And the Price is Right

There are different fast gas scooters for every budget and style. The least expensive is priced at $650, and the more expensive models have tag prices extending beyond the thousand dollar mark. The cheaper models have classy sleek designs. They are also trendy and give top performance too.

Fast gas scooters need not be expensive. Get one for that daily commutes and short drives. These little road soldiers will eliminate a lot of parking hassles that you experience every time you want a space in crowded parking areas.

Check out suppliers and retailers for the latest in scooters. You can get online and compare dealer prices as well as brands. No doubt about it, fast gas scooters give the edge – extra money, convenient commutes, and freedom on the road.

Golf Cart Engines; Extending Cart Life

In times past it was easy to find men tinkering under the hood of their vehicles adjusting belts, carburetors, spark plugs and any of a number of other engine parts in an effort to extend the life and usefulness of their vehicle.

With the advent of home repair and vehicle repair television and radio shows the idea of taking something well-used and making it useful again has suddenly become en vogue once more.

The movement today is called Repowering and it is a method of reintroducing the notion that remanufactured and rebuilt small engines are a cost effective way to add life to gas powered vehicles.

While it may be true that many country clubs have decided an electric cart is a better fit for their needs and less labor intensive the truth is a gas powered cart is a sturdier long term solution to the rigorous demands of most golf courses.

It may be important to note that a new gas powered golf cart can cost as much as $20,000 while repower kits for gas powered golf carts can be purchased for as little as $1,500. It’s true, you might suffer a little down time, but for savings of potentially thousands of dollars, the inconvenience may well be worth it.

The basics design of a golf cart is relatively simple so repowering them simply makes sense. According to the Engine Repower Council, “Rebuilt engines get better gas mileage than a worn engine, and emit fewer pollutants. Engine repowering also saves the tremendous amount of energy used in processing discarded engines and vehicles.”

In the long run, a golf cart with more power, fewer emissions and a cost that still remains below that of a new electric unit may be a solution that is hard to ignore.

Let me reemphasize…

• If you have a Honda small engine a repower solution is available.

• If you have a Kohler engine, a repower solution is available.

• If you have a Cushman Truckster, a repower solution is available.

• If you have a Cushman Haulster, a repower solution is available.

• If you have a Briggs & Stratton engine, a repower solution is available.

In the end, a repower solution is a means of bringing common sense solutions to the issues affecting your golf course. It remains an environmentally friendly way to manage both your ongoing needs as well as reducing the short term need for additional disposal of a metal waste product.

Benefit Recap:
• Cost effective solution to the long term care of your golf cart fleet.

• Environmentally friendly solution due to fewer emissions and a reduction in the energy cost of cart disposal.

• Extends the life of otherwise useful golf carts.

• Completely avoids hidden costs associated with new purchase.

• Provides proof that common sense is alive and well in America.

Take the time to investigate the possibilities and you may come to the conclusion that the best reason to repower is because it’s one of the few things that just make sense.

Got A Hybrid Car With A Refinance Home Loan? Drive Easy

There’s a spanking new hybrid in your garage. You’re itching to speed up on the highways and show off what you got from your refinance home loan, but please wait. Do you still remember how to drive with care?

The hot hybrid cars

The new small and efficient hybrid cars run on gas and battery. That’s how it got its name. It guzzles less gas and you get 10-15 miles per gallon than your old gas-thirsty pick-up. You reason that it’s time now to change to save the environment, that’s why you got a refinance home loan.

Your choice was a Honda Civic hybrid. It runs without the drag and is wind resistant giving a nice feel when you go full throttle. Whether on a dirt road or asphalt, you’ll do fine.

In traffic, your car shuts off automatically; saving you tons of gas money, and anytime you can switch from gas to electric without batting an eyelash. What a nice buy indeed.

Driving safely

A funny guy quipped that safe driving is getting away from the crazy driver behind you and ahead of you. So zoom ahead. But kidding aside, there’s a grain of truth to the joke. Distance between you and the drivers ahead and behind you should give you room to maneuver.

With all those news stories about car accidents and road rage, you should practice defensive driving and shore up on patience. You need to practice your skill rounding the bends and the treacherous curves.

Curves are the most dangerous especially when driving at night. Better stay on the right lane all the time. Don’t be tempted to cross to the other lane no matter how urgent your mission is. It’s your life, your car, and there’s your refinance home loan to settle.

Another driving obstacle is driving along on 4 lane highways. As always, stay on the right hand lane. If the coast is clear you can overtake a car and cross to the left lane. If an oncoming car loses its brakes, it’ll veer further to the left. So you’re safe from head on collisions staying on the right lane.

Traffic rules were not put up just for the heck of it. There is science here. So heed these and you’ll enjoy your Honda Civic for years and pay off your refinance home loan body and soul intact.

Other friendly reminders

Don’t drink and drive. If at a party, better sleep your drunkenness on the coach or let somebody sober drive you home. Also avoid making calls on your mobile phone while driving. Don’t get distracted. Keep your eyes on the road and hands on the wheel.

With winter calling, better prep your car. Check the battery, wipers, and the tire pressure. When on the road, you can’t be too careful.

Your passengers’ lives depend on your careful driving, and the life you save be yours. Just because you got a sleek hybrid from your refinance home loan does not mean you can drive recklessly. Your car may be fully paid but your loan is not.

Gps Auto Navigation System Safety

If you have installed a GPS auto navigation system in your car, then you should follow a few simple rules when driving in order to maximize your safety on the road. It doesn’t matter whether you are a long distance driver using the GPS auto navigation system to plan the most efficient route possible, or just using your satellite navigation system to find a route around the traffic problems in your home town, the rules for using GPS systems safely are the same.

The first thing to check before you set off on your journey is to make sure that the GPS receiver is firmly mounted. If you have a windshield mounted receiver that uses a suction cup to hold it in place, make sure that it is firmly attached, while if your GPS receiver is mounted on the dash, check it to ensure that it is not going to fall off.

There is nothing worse than the unit falling off its mounting while you are driving, and this is a very dangerous thing to happen, especially if you start to reach around and try to reattach it while you are driving. If your system is removable, you should take it out of the car whenever you leave it parked in order to remove any temptation for thieves who might otherwise try and steal it off you.

Once you have started on your journey, and set the SatNav system up to plan your route, you should not touch it again. The SatNav should be there to assist you, not to distract you. Ideally, it will give you information about directions through the car’s audio system, and you will not need to look at the screen too often when you are driving, as this means that your attention will be diverted away from where it should be – the road.

It is important to remember that the advice given by a GPS auto navigation system is not infallible, and it is not a substitute for common sense. If you feel that you are being misdirected, and the route that you are following is wrong, do not be afraid of ignoring the advice and following an alternative route.

When used properly, and safely, an GPS auto navigation system can provide you with all the information that you need in order to get to your destinations quickly and easily, with a minimum of fuss, and managing to avoid any traffic problems.

By behaving sensibly with your GPS auto navigation system – making sure it is well fitted, leaving it alone when you are driving, and paying attention when you need to – you will have a safer, quicker and more enjoyable journey than ever before, and never need get lost again.

GPS Auto Navigation Systems

Over the past couple of years, the cost of installing a GPS auto navigation system has fallen considerably, and as an inevitable result of this, more and more people are taking advantage of it in order to make it easier to find out where they are going, plan their journeys, and keep track of where they are.

Satellite navigation dates back a lot longer than many people realize. The principles behind SatNav were first tested back in 1967, but it took nearly 30 years before the NavStar GPS System first began operation as a military application in the mid 1990s. Civilian use of GPS navigation was made available soon after the military launch, but the initial costs of using the system were very high, and required ongoing subscriptions to be paid. The first people who took advantage of GPS were pilots, and surveyors, who needed to be able to measure distances with pinpoint accuracy. In the early days , an affordable GPS auto navigation system was out of reach for the average car owner.

Over time, the costs of GPS auto navigation system has fallen considerably, and there are increasing numbers of applications for them and the data that they provide in our daily lives. Manufacturers such as Garmin and TomTom have combined GPS signals Data with existing map information and complex mathematical algorithms to create systems that can be used for navigation on the roads and highways.

These GPS auto navigation systems can be installed into any car in a matter of minutes, and then be used to plan journeys, and keep track of where you are to stop you getting lost on the roads. By being combined with other data, such as traffic news feeds, GPS auto navigation systems can warn drivers about road congestion, and provide alternative routes in real time to ensure that no-one who has such a GPS needs get stuck in a queue again.

There are a number of different styles of GPS auto navigation systems available to suit the needs of the individual, from basic models through to expensive and highly accurate systems able to manage large amounts of data and provide information to the users in order to give feedback about where they have been.

The simplest kind of auto navigation GPS system is a removable gadget that stores the map data internally, and uses a satellite signal to pinpoint the position of the unit. By combining the map data and the satellite signal, routes can be planned, and the user can find their way, while seeing a graphical representation of their route on a small screen. These GPS auto navigation systems can be either removable, or fixed into the car. Many new models actually integrate the GPS into the dashboard, while non fixed systems can either be mounted on the dash, or attached to the windshield using a suction cup.

As well as dedicated auto GPS devices, it is also possible to buy a large number of other gadgets with GPS as a built in feature. Some GPS PDAs can have a GPS module plugged in to them, and used in cars, and an increasing number of cell phones have GPS as a standard feature. On the whole, although these devices have GPS built in, it is not of the same standard as a dedicated system, and wile it may help you know where you are, it will not provide such accurate data or be able to plan routes on the go as well as one of the custom systems from Garmin or Magellan.

At the top end of the list of auto navigation GPS systems, there are a number of fantastic options available. Many of the high end GPS auto navigation systems include a range of features to make getting around as simple and convenient as possible.

Aside from the standard information about maps and positions, these GPS systems can also provide information about local amenities such as gas stations, motels, and even speed control cameras in certain countries. More expensive GPS auto navigation systems come with the ability to upload additional map systems so they can be used in different countries, and through the use of local radio services, provide comprehensive traffic information to the driver wherever in the world he is.

Whether you want a simple auto navigation GPS system to help you avoid the traffic problems in your home town, or are a cross country driver who needs the long distance planning flexibility for getting from a-to-b as efficiently as possible, there is a GPS system available that will suit your needs.

GPS Vehicle Tracking Devices

It is said that had it not been for a GPS tracking device in OJ Simpson’s mobile phone, he would not have been found to be tried on his wife’s murder. A GPS vehicle tracking device is much like driving around in your car with your mobile phone. It allows a person to locate the current position of a moving vehicle or identify where it’s been and as well, where it is heading. This is ideal for chasing criminals who has just fled the scene of the crime or finding where a suspicious vehicle will be heading next.

A GPS tracking device calculates its position by measuring distances between itself and other GPS satellites. In return, the signals emitted by the satellites carry information about the GPS carrier’s location. Aside from absolute location, other civilian benefits from having GPS vehicle tracking devices include relative movement. Relative movement is useful in ships and vessels to calculate certain time distance calculations including velocity made good toward your destination and crosstrac error calculations.

Additional benefits of using GPS vehicle tracking devices is the ability to know let the carrier know exactly where their vehicle is located and its direction of travel. This technology can also create a digital view of the vehicle’s current position in a geographic map. This information can be valuable in remote locations that do not have established road names or where the vehicle may be traveling off road. More advanced GPS devices can even tell you which turn to take or which roads to take to reach a destination. Life is now easier drivers who simply get on their cars and start their engines without knowing where to go. GPS in vehicles has given everyone the ability to navigate to about any location on the earth. As a result the world is a much small place than it was just a few short years ago. Now we can find our present location, where have been or going to, with a simple click of a button.

So, if you ever wonder where your car may be, your GPS can track where it is to within a few meters. If by chance your car gets stolen, you can easily find where it is heading or where it currently is. Suppose a vehicle stops in the middle of nowhere because of some car trouble, the driver could easily ask for help, or his location could easily be tracked for emergency assistance, that is for as long as there is a signal. GPS tracking will not work without it. This feature has the potential to decrease car theft or even robberies with getaway vehicles. This can also give cheating husbands or spouses a second thought on their actions. Moving around in vehicles with GPS can very well ruin a secret affair because of its non-discreet ability to identify one’s exact location.

Having this new and useful technology, GPS tracking devices in your mobile phones or GPS vehicle tracking devices in your vehicle, we are giving away a part of our lives to be known to others for a price. This loss of privacy is of great concern may many people. Basically we are giving away information about our lives for sake of more information. If you do purchase and install GPS vehicle tracking devices, then you should expect that somebody else can use the GPS tracking information you provide for their own benefit. Unless we a doing something illegal or immoral we really have little fear from the misuse of any GPS tracking information we generate each day.

Graphics For The Motorcycle Helmet

Buying a motorcycle is not that different from buying a car. Prospective buyers need to first check the models that are available in the market and then select the one that is most appropriate to their needs and of course to their budget. But focusing too much on the features can actually make one forget to buy one thing that is really essential when purchasing a motorcycle— the helmet.

Motorcycle helmets are so important and vital to one’s safety that state laws have actually required people to wear them while riding the bike. There are many types to choose from. But whatever the designs or the materials, the person should check the helmet for safety and comfort before buying it and cruising down the highway on the motorbike.

People will notice that most of the headgears sold come in bright colors such as white, red, yellow and orange. The reason for this is to warn other drivers, who are yards away. Bright colors are more visible especially at night.

Some people, however, feel that bright colors are not enough for the safety of the biker. The number of accidents has actually gone up by 12 percent compared to last year’s in a report given by the Bicycle Helmet Safety Institute. The only way to prevent the numbers from further going up is to provide added protection, perhaps in terms of blinking lights, spray paints and even glittering stickers.

Most people put reflective stickers on the side and back of the helmet. Others spray paint this with a certain design. Since the cost for both is almost the same, the person can try having both after choosing the right graphics.

Lightning bolt, reflective eagle, checker flag and halo are just some of the hundreds of graphics that can be placed on the helmet. These are usually one or three inches long going from one side of the headgear to the next. The individual will not have a hard time looking for an auto detailing shop that offer these services. Some can be found around the neighborhood while others over the Internet.

The individual should however look at the catalog before making any decision. The price for the graphics may go from $4 to $8 a piece. This will depend on how complex the design is especially if it is custom-made. It is advisable then to compare the prices offered because it is possible that one dealer will give this at a more affordable rate with an added freebie.

When a graphic design is chosen, the person will have to leave the helmet with the manufacturer. Some even ship it back. The helmets will then be returned in a few days.

People will notice the difference between a plain and colored helmet and one that has graphics on it. For as long as people ride motorcycles, there will always be a market for those who want something different on their helmet.

Grille Guards And Bull Bars Are Ready For Battle Or The Burbs

A good grille guard can be quite the versatile tool for your truck or SUV. In fact, grille guards better your driving experience with the following features:

- Tough looks that add a serious dose of attitude or style to your front end

- Protection of delicate, expensive parts with rugged steel bars that deflect potential hazards

- A number of shapes and styles, from standard push bars to sleek euro-shaping that follows your vehicle's lines

- The versatility to hold auxiliary lighting or a winch

The basics of grille guard shapes and styles - breakdown!

Whatever grille guard shape and style you want, AutoAnything probably has it. We showcase every kind of grille guard, from full front end beasts to small nudge bars to intricate winch grille guards. Plus, there's standard-shaped utility designs and euro-inspired sleek models that reflect your vehicle's styling lines.

Full front end grille guards

The original front-end protector boasts solid uprights bolted to your frame . Some grille guard models feature padded uprights for damage-free pushing. Bolted to the uprights are typically a bar for mounting auxiliary lights, a top hood guard bar, and shaped headlight guards.

Nudge bars and sport bars

Crafted primarily for subdued looks and style, nudge and sport bar grille guards offer solid low-speed impact protection. Their short design, however, prevents these grille guards from protecting your upper grille and headlight areas.

Bumper guards

Laying low to guard against a vehicle's most frequently hit area, bumper guards boast padded uprights and steel tubing to stop minor fender benders from creating a $2,000 damage tab. Plus, they're the ideal safeguard against oblivious parking lot drivers and disaffected municipal workers. Front and rear bumper guards are available for duty.

Skid plates

A few of AutoAnything's full front end grille guards and center guards can be ordered with a skid plate. These tough guards, crafted from steel sheets or tubing, attach to the bottom of the grille guard for ground clearance protection. Anything you drive over - from tree trunks to parking barriers - will hit the skid plate instead of your sensitive underside parts. Not to mention the looks. A skid plate is the exclamation point on your vehicle's frontal attitude.

Taillight guards

Ever had to replace a taillight on account of a stray rock, wayward baseball or misguided vandal? Taillight guards surround them with a durable steel tubing perimeter and rolled steel crossbars. Taillight guards match the look of your front grille guard, and add to the tough style package on your truck or SUV.

Mounting accessories to your grille guard: quick advice

A grille guard can be a great utility station for your vehicle. There's a multitude of lighting options which can be mounted to the center bar. Or, for off-road enthusiasts and the perpetually prepared, many grille guards can be equipped with winch mounting plates.

Most of our full front end and center grille guards come pre-drilled for attaching auxiliary lighting to the center bar. This includes driving, fog and high-beam lights, which fit in a prime position for brightening the road and wiring to your vehicle's electrical system.

Winches can be rigged to most any grille guard, but they're best used with winch-specific grille guards and mounting systems that maximize pulling power. Winch-specific grille guards require more solid mounting to your vehicle's frame , a task that can require cutting, drilling, two or more extra people for help, and several hours time.

Which finish color looks best with your truck or SUV?

Grille guards come in two distinct finish looks: durable black powder coat and highly-polished. Polished models are either chrome plated over steel or feature a mirror-polish of stainless steel. Each of these finishes is available on front end grille guards and taillight guards.

- When you want the original tough grille guard look, go with a powder coat black finish model

- For extra shine that matches your chrome and other trim, pick a polished grille guard

- If you want the best coverage against corrosion, select a stainless steel or chrome plated polished grille guard

With many to choose from including grille guards from westin and Manik, you will surely find the grille solution without having to cook your pocket load in the process.

Harley Davidson Clothes

When you hear about “Harley-Davidson rider”, what is the first thing that comes to your mind?

Although this may generate several different answers, most of you would say: “A bearded man wearing a black leather jacket, black leather pants, a pair of leather boots, black helmet and a bloated tummy.” Right?

Harley Davidson History

In 1901, the 21 year-old William S. Harley had created the blueprint of an engine that was designed to fit in a conventional bicycle. Two years later, William together with his friend Arthur Davidson started and developed a one-cylinder engine that was installed on a conventional bicycle during that time. However, this motorized-bicycle was proved to be incapable of climbing through the Milwaukee hills without pedal assistance. Harley and Davidson developed further their motor after that experience.

Immediately, they have created a bigger engine (405 cc or 24.74 cubic inches) that was become the very first and real Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Meanwhile, the first Harley-Davidson factory was in a 10 x 15-foot wooden shed. The two friends were helped by Arthur’s older brother Walter.

After a year, the Harley-Davidson motorcycle entered its very first motorcycle race at Milwaukee.

The first years came in so quickly for the company that after 3 years, Harley-Davidson motorcycle production was transferred at Chestnut Street (that was later become Juneau Avenue). This is still the Harley-Davidson headquarters up to this time.

In 1907, William received a degree in mechanical engineering at University of Wisconsin. This helped them to development of better Harley-Davidson engines in the future. The same year also provided them a much needed factory expansion for the growing motorcycle demands. The year 1907 introduced the 45-degree V-Twin engine which has become the sole Harley-Davidson engine for a very long time.

Over the years, the company has gained so much popularity that was converted into sales output. During the First World War, Harley-Davidson was commissioned to provide more than 20,000 units for military use. The story of the Second World was the same for the company. They produced thousand upon thousands of motorcycle.

Before the entry of the 70’s, AMF or the American Machinery and Foundry bought Harley-Davidson. Policies had changed that resulted to labor strike and substandard bikes. The popularity and reputation of the company was severely damaged.

In the 80’s, it was sold to a group of investors headed by Willie G. Davidson and Vaughn Beals. The provided innovations such as the introduction of the "Sturgis". The costumers began to return and the company had seen clearer promise.

Since then, the popularity of Harley-Davidson motorcycles was unquestionable. They regained their leadership in motorcycle industry as they create a unique line of motorcycles, different from the conventional Japan made. Now, after more than a hundred years of existence, Harley-Davidson motorcycles have become an attraction in every road around the world.

In just two decades, Acura has gone from the first Japanese luxury car to being the leader of the SUV pack. You could have your name, a special date or a message engraved on it which would make it a truly valuable possession you would treasure for life.

Acura realizes that not every person is able to enter and exit the vehicle easily. So they include up to $1,000 of the cost of aftermarket adaptive equipment, so the drivers and passengers with disabilities will be able to enjoy this exciting car. This is just one of the many ways Acura makes sure they stay oriented to the needs of their customers.
